Timon Celebrates 70th Commencement

The Bishop Timon – St. Jude High School Class of 2019 graduated in a ceremony in the school auditorium on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

“Their diplomas signify their intellectual commitment along with diligence, dedication and perseverance,” said Dr. James Newton, Timon principal, who handed each student his diploma.

The evening’s keynote speaker was 1982 Bishop Timon graduate and President of Rich Baseball Operations Michael Buczkowski. He has also served as Buffalo Bisons General Manager since 1993.

Life is a lot like a baseball game, Buczkowski told the 46 members of the Class of 2019. Just like a ball game has nine innings, he offered nine tips for a winning season.

“Graduation Day is just the beginning for you, it’s your Opening Day,” said Buczkowski. “Enjoy your day today – and hopefully we’ll see you in the playoffs. Congratulations – happy Opening Day!”
