TIMON'S FRANCISCAN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM CONCLUDES 2017-2018 PROGRAM

The Class of 2018 Franciscan Leadership Program held its Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, May 30. The students and their families enjoyed a buffet dinner followed by brief comments from each of the student participants.

112 students have gone through the leadership program since its inception for the 2011-12 academic year.  Timon's most recent Valedictorian and Salutatorian also enjoyed sharing their collegiate plans for this fall while enjoying dinner with the Leadership Program graduates.

Respected Program Director Suzanne Overdorf, has described the curriculum of the Program to include identifying common traits exemplified by leaders and teaching the students skills that enable them to develop and sharpen such skills within themselves.  The students learn tools for problem-solving, conflict resolution and effective communication.  The students also learn that with leadership comes responsibility, that leaders have the power for effecting positive change in our world.  Mrs. Overdorf added, "St. Francis of Assisi was chosen as the Leadership Program role model because of his respect for life, creation and mankind.  A true leader respects those he leads."
