The Academic Intervention Center provides support to any student needing assistance in any subject. The teacher works with students in small groups and individually to develop skills critical to academic success. The Academic Intervention Center also addresses the development of time management, note-taking and study strategies. Students are assigned to the Academic Intervention Center by the guidance department, teacher referrals, and parent request. Any student needing additional support can request help. Test preparation and resources are provided for the Regents Exam and the SAT/ACT college entrance exams. The teacher in the Academic Intervention Center also works closely with identified exceptional education students and attends to the accommodations and/or modifications indicated in each Individualized Education plan (IEP), Individualized Education Services Plan (IESP) and 504 plan.
