Bishop Timon has named Michael Cassidy ‘08 as its next Head Hockey Coach. Cassidy graduated from Bishop Timon in 2008, where he played for Pat Fisher. While on the ice at Timon, Cassidy earned 1st team All-Federation honors. Following his successful career at Timon, Cassidy played for the Junior Sabres and then at SUNY Plattsburgh. While at SUNY Plattsburgh, Cassidy won 2 SUNYAC Championships. He was a Capital One Academic All-America 3rd Team performer, a 2nd team All SUNYAC Conference Selection, and a 2-time SUNYAC Defensive Forward of the Year.

Mike has been the JV Hockey Coach at Timon for the last 5 years. During the interview process, which was facilitated by Timon Administrators, faculty, parent, and an alumnus, Mike’s plan for the program made an impression. Timon Director of Athletics Joe Licata said, “Mike is organized and laid out his plan for how he sees the Timon Hockey Program growing. I have witnessed him coaching over the last few seasons and his ability to relate to the players and draw out their full potential was why we were confident in his plan. He loves the game and loves working with kids. I know our program is in good hands!”

"I am very excited to rejoin the Timon community. This is a terrific opportunity and I would like to thank Matt English, Mike McCarthy, Bob Heidenger, Glenn Donato, and Chris and Cooper Panek for all the work they have done for the Timon Hockey program over the last 5 years. I am excited to get things started and bring my knowledge and love for the game to this new era of Timon Hockey. Go Tigers!" Cassidy said.

Cassidy will be introduced to the team in the coming weeks to prepare for offseason workouts.
