The Academic Intervention Center provides remedial assistance for all students in all subjects. A teacher is available to assist students during each class period and before or after school. Help is available for students having difficulty in any subjects or for test preparation. Students are assigned to the Academic Intervention Center by teacher referral, Guidance office referral or by themselves if they feel they need extra help in a subject. The Academic Intervention Center also provides preparation for SATs and the English III Regents examination. The teacher in the Academic Intervention Center also works closely with identified special education students to make certain that IEP requirements, such as alternative testing site and extended time, are provided.
