The Bishop Timon-St. Jude Lacrosse team returns this year with a vengeance after losing last year’s State Catholic championship game by one goal. They are the defending Msgr. Martin League Champions. This year’s squad is led by seniors Brian Sullivan (University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill), David Scarcello (Marist College), Samuel Connors (Ithaca/Oswego), Daniel Vogl (SUNY Cortland) and Robert Grosso (John Carroll). As was the case last year, the team faces a difficult non-league schedule, highlighted by games with powerhouse LaCosta Prep of California, Hill Academy of Toronto, and a season ending game at Orchard Park. The team is counting on a talented group of freshmen to help fill the void left by departing players Christopher Kane (Syracuse) and Patrick Maloney (Mercyhurst). Those freshmen include Adam DiMillo, Layne Collins, Sean Hillery and Brandon Donahue. Among the players who will have a major impact this year are juniors Owen Casey, Cyle Collins Tyler Conroy and sophomore Lewis Vaccaro.
