National Honor Society Inducts Twenty-Three New Members

Bishop Timon – St. Jude High School welcomed twenty-three new members into the Duns Scotus Chapter of the National Honor Society. Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that may be awarded to a high school student. Membership is based on four ideals that a student must possess for selection in the National Honor Society. Students must excel in academics, leadership, service and character.
Mark Lazzara ’77, Founder & CEO of WNY AmeriCorps, was the keynote speaker for the induction ceremony. Mr. Lazzara spoke of the great honor being in the National Honor Society. “At Timon we are given the example of a life of service by St. Francis of Assisi. Today is a very important day for you because you are given an opportunity to lead by example and serve others. You have a responsibility now to be a leader by your words, your actions, and, most importantly, by your example of service. The qualities of a National Honor Society member will be the basis of your life when you leave Timon.”
